My life it seems, has always been uncertain,
I never thought I’d see a bright clear day.
Now when its time to pull the final curtain,
I’ll know my time has come, my debts I’ll pay.

I never took the time, to really understand,
the Bible, and just what it meant to me.
Then one day when I needed him, he took my hand,
and now each night, I close my eyes, and see.

Could I face the thought of friends, who turn their backs on me?
Could I carry that ole cross, when the strength has gone from me?
Ooh, how those thorns would tear, and the pain he’d bear,
yet he asked, wilt thou forgive?
Then he gave his life for me, on calvary.
